A little box for that little gift.

No paint or stamping today, just needed to do something different. A little surfing on You Tube brought up this little box, possibly Pootles.

Sometimes just reversing the way you usually fold a score line can make a lovely difference. This little box is the basis for an upcoming project, you will have to keep looking over the next fortnight before you see the finished project!

I have used some of the FREE designer paper available during February and March with a qualifying order.

Workbook. Anne Brooke workshop.

I have had the most amazing day. As someone who hates a large blank sheet of paper I was rather worried when presented with an A2 sheet of good quality cartridge paper this morning.

I have spent the day at a workshop looking at ways of starting a workbook. Its something I have wanted to do for ages and the fact that my drawing skills are not so good has always put me off. BUT you don't have to draw, its not a sketch book its a workbook. Once I have made a few in the way we have today I plan on using them to plan my workshops, getting the ideas out of my head onto paper as they happen then I can remember them for putting classes together.

Here is a little look at my work from today, its not a finished product and much of it is well out of my comfort zone but I have enjoyed it.

Both sides of the large sheet of paper have been inked, stamped, painted, bleached etc Then we folded and cut the paper to make a book.
Then we looked at envelopes, punches, tags, and other items including writing to put onto the pages. Using a pen to highlight, draw and decorate the pages.

I hope you are having a good weekend. Some creativity is good for the soul.

Balloons galore

This is one of the new bundles in the Stampin'Up spring summer catalogue.

I think its brilliant particularly for those of you who haven't got a Big Shot. The punch does the two sizes of balloon. To economise on card its best to cut a 1" stip and feed it through the size that you want, this way you can punch lots quickly without waisting a sheet of card.

The three central balloons are punched from the Blushing Bride glimmer card. Isn't this pretty.

The inside has a little stamping too.

Using the smokey slate as a matt layer between the blushing bride and very vanilla just lifts  the colours.

Today I have used blushing bride, think I might do a pale blue one next week. This shade of pink is not sugary and sweet and I prefer it to the pink pirouette.  I have stamped lots of the balloons and used  low tack paper to cover the first stamped ones so I could build up a whole bunch behind.

Mid Week Male....unisex..... gift. Home decor item

I wasn't quite sure of the title for this post.
It is a nice easy make that does look good when complete. Now that I have taken the pictures I am going to go and get a black picture frame as I think it will look better.

It would make an idea valentine gift or just treat yourself.

The background is from the Going Places paper stack. The central banner is a 'Going Global' stamp.

I have used a stamp from one of the Project Life sets to make the little arrows.
And the red foil hearts are punched with the owl punch.

I think a black frame will defiantly look better, what do you think?

Berry Basket and Hamburger Box Dies

These two dies are on weekly deals, which makes them very good value for money. I have an order going in tomorrow - Tuesday at 8.30pm. Message me if you would like to order yours or buy online. Offer closes at 10.59pm Tuesday 26th Jan.

I admit I haven't used my Berry Basket die since last summer when I made them as party favours for a friends 21st. So two quick makes to show you today.

This one in Rose red, clean lines looks crisp. The stripy edge is a little piece of DSP I had left
over from a last summer pack. There are lots of lovely papers you could use. The bow is made with the bow builder punch finishes it off beautifully.

Alternatively here is one made in designer paper, I hadn't any minty green tissue paper to stuff it with so put the pink in for the last picture just to show what it would look like. I have used 2 pieces of the mint macaron lace to make the handle which I think gives it a bit of country style - shabby chic?

Now for the burger box, you can have a bit of fun with this one, I have seen it with the sides cut out and filled with acetate and the box made into aquarium. Such talented people about. The best thing I managed was the 'dogs'. I am not big on punch art but really enjoyed making these.

What do you think? Which one would you like in your stash?

The products have an amazing discount:-
The Berry Basket is £26.25 thats £8.75 in savings.
The Hamburger box is £29.25 thats £9.75 in savings.
Add a punch and a pack of paper making it £45 and you would qualify for a free item from the SAB brochure. message me for details.

I have just received 200 photo prints via snappish, whom I highly recommend to do your prints, so I have plenty of Project Life work ahead.
